Rodic Sheds Light on the Future of Smart Cities and Importance of Data at FIDIC ASPAC 2019

Rodic recently participated in FIDIC ASPAC 2019, an international conference on Quality Infrastructure for Clean and Sustainable Development held from July 7 to 9 in Delhi. The senior leaders, Dr. H.A. Kazmi (Advisor – Strategy and New Business), Maj. Gen. Neeraj Bali (Head of HR and Corporate Affairs) and Dr. Narasimha Murthy (Associate Director, Multimodal and ITS) represented Rodic at the respected conference. 

Representing the consulting engineering industry of Asia and Pacific region under the FIDIC Member Associations, ASPAC constitutes of 22 member countries. The conference is organized with the objective to promote regional cooperation amongst member associations through an exchange of knowledge on the current requirements in each country’s infrastructure and its sustainable solution.

Dr. Narasimha Murthy was also one of the eminent speakers at the conference. He duly addressed the rising trend of smart cities. He explained the significant connection between IoT and ICT technology, and the expertise of civil engineering, without which no infrastructure could ever exist. A visionary, he even elucidated on the future of smart cities. Calling it ‘Connected Cities of the Future’ he estimated how, in the future, two cities will be connected by technology alone while an integrated data collection system will assist to serve the citizens better.

Professionals of the Business Development team at Rodic too attended the conference, participated in the Buyer-Seller meet and got an opportunity to network with international clients.
